| Yesterday evening at approximately 5:30 PM, the Town of Bedford was impacted by a severe line of thunderstorms that moved rapidly through the area, causing widespread damage.
Just before the storm, our department responded mutual aid to Goldens Bridge for a structure fire at the new Mercedes-Benz dealership. Tanker 6, Ladder 39, and Cars 2211 and 2213 responded. Upon clearing the scene, units diverted and began handling multiple calls throughout the district.
Over the course of the next six hours, our members responded to numerous calls involving fallen trees on roadways, along with multiple reports of wires down and burning.
During continued post storm operations, Tanker 6 was also requested to stand by at Croton Fire Department Station 2 while they operated at a structure fire in their district. |
