Katonah Fire Department volunteers were dispatched around 8 PM Saturday evening to a one vehicle accident on Route 35 near Mount Holly Road. A car had gone off Route 35 and ended up down an embankment across from Mount Holly Road. The occupant had to be extricated from the vehicle. Cars 2211, 2212, and 2213, along with Rescue17, Engine115, Ladder 39, and Utility 8 responded. Firefighters had to set up a low angle rope system in order to safely get down to the car, extricate the victim, and get her safely up the hill to the waiting ambulance. Fortunately, the occupant was conscious. An extensive police investigation following kept Route 35 closed for several hours.

Units: Car 2211, Car 2212, Car 2213, Engine 115, Rescue 17, Ladder 39, Utility 8.

Mutual Aid: Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
