Katonah volunteers were dispatched around 6:30 PM Monday evening to a house on Barrett Road for a reported bedroom fire. Cars 2211 and 2213 along with Engine 116, Engine, 115, Ladder 39 and Tanker 6 responded. Car 2213 arrived on scene, reported a fire in the cockloft, and transmitted a 10-75, bringing mutual aid agencies from around Northern Westchester County to the scene. An aggressive attack by Engine 116's crew brought the fire under control quickly and the entire house was checked for extension. The county Cause and Origin team also conducted an investigation. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the fire itself was confined to the bedroom area. Units were on scene until about 9:15 PM.
