Katonah Fire Department wishes to thank everyone who attended our Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 12. The firehouse was wall-to-wall people, checking out turnout gear and other equipment, participating in arts and crafts and firefighting scavenger hunts, shooting a fire hose, learning about volunteer opportunities, and of course, going on the ever -popular fire truck rides. The highlight was the burning of a wooden "house" the volunteers built on our backlot, and witnessing our fire crews extinguishing what turned out to be a roaring fire. We had a great time organizing this and we hope you had a great time attending. And if you're looking for some additional excitement, come by Saturday, October 19 from 4-8 PM for our Backyard Blaze!
