KFD participated in Bedford Police Department’s National Night Out which was held Monday night at Bedford Hills Memorial Park. National Night Out is a community policing awareness-raising event in the United States, usually held the first Tuesday of August. This year, the event was postponed due to rain. An enthusiastic crowd of people came out to mingle with Bedford police officers and to check out volunteer agencies. In addition to Katonah, Bedford Hills Fire Department and Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps were represented. Attendees were able to check out our Rescue 17 truck, try on turnout gear, and operate a portable battery powered spreader.
