Early Monday morning, KFD volunteers were dispatched to assist Bedford Village Fire Department, whose members were battling a house fire on Long Ridge Road. Tanker 6 responded to the scene. However, upon arrival at the scene, Tanker 6 was redirected to Fox Lane Middle School on a reported chimney fire. Tanker 6 responded to the campus and its crew assisted KFD’s Ladder 39 crew, along with crews from Mount Kisco and Bedford Hills fire departments in mitigating that situation. Later on in the day, Tanker 6 was again called to the scene of the house fire on Long Ridge Road to assist Bedford Village with overhaul. Crews remained on scene until well into the afternoon.
