Recently deceased Katonah Fire Department Ex-Chief James Arena, Jr. was honored for his many years of dedicated service to both Katonah and the Katonah Fire Department, with a proclamation presented by NYS Assemblyman Chris Burdick and NYS Senator Shelley Mayer. The proclamation was presented at Katonah Fire Headquarters on Saturday morning. On hand to receive the proclamation were Ex Chief Arena's children, KFD member Teresa O'Hagan, KFD Ex-Chief Jim Arena III, and Jim's wife Gina Arena. In part, the proclamation reads, . . . "Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of compassion, James Arena, Jr. leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time." He will be dearly missed by all at KFD.
