There will be a Memorial Day Parade this Memorial Day holiday weekend. On Memorial Day Monday, May 31, Katonah Fire Department, in conjunction with American Legion Post 1575, will hold its Memorial Day Parade and Commemoration Ceremony. COVID restrictions will be in place, with masks required and social distancing enforced. The parade will kick off at 10 AM at Katonah Fire Department Headquarters. The marchers will head down Katonah Avenue, and up Parkway to Lawrence Circle, where an abbreviated memorial ceremony will be held. Following that, the marchers will proceed to Katonah Fire Department Headquarters, where a second ceremony and wreath laying will be held. Due to COVID restrictions, ice cream will not be served afterwards. Despite that, KFD is grateful to the Town of Bedford for endorsing a parade, as it is a sign of some return to normalcy. We hope you are able to come out and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedom.
