A rainy Saturday didn't discourage KFD members from taking part in water rescue training at the Katonah Pool. The training, organized and carried out by Katonah Fire Department's Line Officers, involved the use of the department's dry suits, and the safety procedures needed for a quick, effective water rescue. As our district is surrounded by reservoirs, the ability to respond to, and carry out water rescues is a key component of our fire department's mission. KFD would like to thank the Bedford Recreation and Parks department for giving us access to the pool and the lifeguard staff for guarding during the drill.
