Late Saturday morning, at around 11 AM, Katonah Fire Department Volunteers were dispatched to a one-car accident on I-684 SB between Exits 6 and 5. A car had hit a guardrail in the left lane. Fortunately, the two occupants were not seriously injured and refused medical attention from KBHVAC. KFD units established a safe zone in the left lane while NY State Police and Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps, along with Westchester EMS, assessed the occupants. The left lane remained closed for about an hour while the scene was cleaned up and the vehicle towed away. KFD units were back in service by 12:15 PM.
