By Ex Chief Dean W. Pappas
August 17, 2019

Early this morning at about 1:24 a.m., Katonah firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Lily Pond Lane. Car 2212, Car 2214, Engine 116 and Ladder 39 responded. Upon arrival, Car 2214 reported that there was no evidence of fire from the outside, but that the family had smoke in the home and had evacuated the house. A thorough investigation by fire crews resulted in the issue being attributed to a malfunctioning appliance in the kitchen and related electrical wiring in the home. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the home’s electrical system was rendered safe for the night. KFD was on scene for approximately one hour.

Units: Car 2212, Car 2214, Engine 116, Ladder 39
