On Tuesday night the Katonah Fire Department held its regular monthly meeting. During the meeting Chief of Department Jose Corsino called Ex-Chief Dean Pappas to the front of the room. Ex-Chief Pappas was unable to make the annual inspection dinner in October where he would have been publicly acknowledged and thanked. Chief Corsino gave a brief speech recognizing Ex-Chief Pappas for his time and dedication to the department as he has held one of the 3 chief positions since 2012. He was presented with an engraved ceremonial axe commemorating his years as Chief of Department as well as receiving his 25 years of service badge. This was met by a well deserved standing ovation by all those in attendance. Ex-Chief Pappas is still extremely active in the department and is the main contributor towards the KFD website.
