Katonah Firefighters utilized our training tower Monday night for a hose advancement/interior operations drill. Using a smoke machine to create low visibility conditions in the training tower, crews of firefighters on Engine 115 using air packs advanced a hose line into the tower and simulated fighting a fire and conducting an interior search. Meanwhile, an extension ladder was placed on the outside of the tower and Ladder 39 extended its aerial to the roof. The training tower provides an ideal setting to drill on various firefighting scenarios, and its use by our neighboring departments has grown over the years.
