Recently, CBS News reported that fire safety equipment Kidde Corporation is recalling a large number of home fire extinguishers due to the risk of malfunction. The news report is at this link:
At the end of the news story there is a link to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission web site that shows the fire extinguisher models that are subject to recall. Kidde will replace the recalled extinguishers for free. Please take the time this weekend to check your fire extinguisher.
