At about 6:30 PM on Thursday evening, February 29, Katonah Fire Department volunteers were dispatched to a reported three car motor vehicle accident on Interstate 684, with reports that an occupant in one of the involved vehicles had been ejected from their vehicle. KFD volunteers were dispatched 2:45 Monday afternoon to The Terrace after a gas main was accidentally struck by workers installing sewers. Engine 116, Engine 115, Utility 8, Car 2213 and Car 2212 responded, along with an engine from Bedford Hills Fire Department. Wednesday afternoon, KFD’s Ladder 39 was called to assist Somers Fire Department at a house fire on Tannahill Court. Ladder 39 was initially asked to relocate to Somers fire headquarters on Primrose Street. However, while enroute, a second alarm was transmitted and Ladder 39 was redirected to the scene of the fire. On Thursday, January 11, KFD volunteers had recently returned to the firehouse after handling a reported gas leak in town when we were dispatched along with Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS to a male unconscious and reportedly not breathing.
